ANQA carries on meetings with the representatives in the field. On 17 July, the director of National Centre for Vocational Education and Training Enhancement, Mr. Samvel Pipoyan was invited to ANQA. He presented the main directions of the VET reforms at the implementation of which the activity of their centre is aimed. These directions include the development of national educational standards and subject syllabi, teaching staff training, and integration into the international developments. He also informed that they are developing about 10.000 occupation descriptors. According to S. Pipoyan, the descriptors will form a better idea about the VET system of Armenia and the demanded professions.
The National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA) has developed an on-line questionnaire for creating an information database on educational institutions and launching cooperation with the institutions. To collect comments and suggestions, the questionnaire was sent to several HEIs representatives responsible for cooperation with ANQA, and these institutions are anticipated to fill in the questionnaire by the 1st of July.
On 12 June 2009, the National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA) was granted an associate status within the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) by the Board of the Association.
On June 25 2009 in ANQA, a meeting with Armen Budaghyan, YSU Associate Vice-Rector, Ph.D., Associate Professor, took place. He has a good experience regarding the reforms within the framework of the Bologna Process implementation in our country and abroad.
On 8 June 2009, a round table discussion on “Quality Assurance System in Armenia” was held in ANQA with the participation of Ara Avetisyan, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, representatives of the World Bank and the state HEIs, as well as international organizations related to education projects in Armenia. The purpose of the round table was the introduction of the current situation in the country in regard to education quality assurance, projects being implemented by different organizations and the identification of the possible collaboration provisions.
