On April 16-18, ANQA’s expert panel conducts external review at the Yerevan State College of Light Industry.
The chair of the expert panel is Gayane Avetisyan, head of the Quality Assurance Department at the M. Nalbandyan State University of Shirak, Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor. The members of the expert panel are Narine Sirakanyan, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, head of the Teachers’ Professional Development Department of the National Center for Education Development and Innovation Foundation, Hripsime Maronyan, director of "Maronyan" Fashion Studio, teacher at the Chair of Fine Arts, Faculty of Art Education, Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, Robert Manasyan, student at the Yerevan State College of Informatics. The process coordinator is Meri Barseghyan, specialist at ANQA’s Policy Development Division.
Prior to the site visit, the expert panel studied the education institution's self-evaluation report, the documents attached, as well as conducted class observations, resource observation and desk review.
As part of the external review, the expert panel held meetings with the education institution's management staff, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, students, alumni, employers, heads of divisions, teachers, the quality assurance manager and other stakeholders.
The expert panel had "professional talks" with the managers, teaching staff and students of the Aps "Clothing Manufacturing Technology", "Clothing Modeling and Design" and "Insurance Case".
The process coming after the site visit is the preparation of an expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. Based on that report, the education institution will prepare a follow-up plan with a clear schedule.
Next on, ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts.
It should be noted that in 2022, the Yerevan State College of Light Industry was granted conditional institutional accreditation for a period of two years.
