On December 10, ANQA conducted a monitoring of the internal quality assurance system at the Yerevan State Conservatory.
As part of the monitoring, meetings were held with the education institution’s management staff, QA managers, heads of chairs, teachers and students.
The following key issues were addressed:
- the peculiarities of the institution’s assessment system and activities conducted to enhance it;
- the activities to cultivate research-minded specialists, with a particular emphasis on the incorporation of research components into the student assignments, the development of students' analytical and critical-thinking skills and mechanisms for feedback and formative assessment;
- the outcome-oriented approach to teaching and learning, the institution's mechanisms to ensure the credibility of awarded qualifications and the achievement of intended outcomes and the methods for the assessment of all outcomes;
- the need to develop students' digital skills, the effective use of AI tools in the teaching and learning process;
- the mechanisms for the identification of the teacher needs and steps towards their capacity building.
The implementation process and outcomes of the AP self-audit were also discussed.
At the end of the monitoring, during the meeting with the management staff, the education institution’s achievements and enhancement areas were summarised.
