On May 27-30, as part of institutional and programme accreditation, a joint expert panel from ANQA and the German Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs (AQAS) conducts an external review at the Armenian State University of Economics.
The members of the expert panel are Dr. Anne-Dörte Balks, head of the Quality Enhancement Department at the Centre for Quality in Teaching and Learning (ZQS) of the Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany, Tatjana Volkova, professor of Strategic Management and Innovation Management at the BA School of Business and Finance in Riga and head of Licensing and Accreditation Commissions of Higher Education of Latvia, André W. Heinemann, professor of Federal and Regional Financial Relations at the University of Bremen, Germany, Nona Khachatryan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Management and Business of the Yerevan State University, Naira Derdzyan, head of the Data Analytics Centre at the Grant Thornton Armenia, Arpine Hakobyan, a student at Vanadzor State University.
The process coordinators are Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division and Ronny Heintze, deputy director for International Development at AQAS.
As part of the external review, the Armenian-German expert panel held meetings with the education institution's management staff, representatives of divisions, employers, teachers, students and other stakeholders.
The expert panel had "professional talks" with the managers, teaching staff and students of the Aps "Economics", "Finance" and "Management".
Following the site visit, the experts will compile a joint report, evaluating the education institution's activities and academic programmes against accreditation criteria. The Armenian-German expert panel will point out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and present relevant recommendations, guiding the preparation of a follow-up plan with a clear schedule.
Next, the accreditation committees of the two countries will publish separate decisions on the institutional accreditation of the education institution and the three academic programmes reviewed.
