In the near future, as part of the external review process, site visits will be conducted at the Kapan State College of Arts, the Gavar State College of Arts and the Meghri State College. On September 12, ANQA held a meeting with the participation of expert panels for the three institutions, ANQA’s director, head of the Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division and coordinators.
The agenda included the desk review results and the hypotheses that will guide the experts during the external review. The discussions focused on:
- the extent to which the activities of education institutions undergoing accreditation address regional needs;
- the issues identified by the experts as significant from the students’ perspective;
- the experts’ solutions to these issues, considering the institutional context.
It was highlighted that every activity of an education institution, ranging from financial planning and resource acquisition to staff recruitment, should serve the goal of ensuring students achieve the intended outcomes. During the external review process, it is essential to consider the education institutions’ activities in this context.
It was emphasised that the experts should not only document facts and the resulting issues, but also analyse cause-and-effect relationships, proposing applicable and practical solutions. A reference was also made to the peculiarities of preparing art specialists, as well as the challenges of attracting and retaining teachers.
