On December 15-18, as part of institutional accreditation, ANQA’s expert panel conducts an external review at the Goris State University.
The chair of the expert panel is Lilit Badalyan, PhD, Associate Professor, head of the Chair of Linguistics and Communication Theory. The members of the expert panel are Mieczyslaw Socha, QA expert at the Polish Accreditation Committee, Doctor of Economics and emeritus professor at the University of Warsaw, Nonna Khachatryan, teacher at the Chair of Business Administration, Associate Professor at the Yerevan State University, Gohar Petrosyan, teacher at the French University in Armenia, legal advisor to Aragats Perlit OJSC, Vahe Hovhannisyan, student at the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics of the Yerevan State University.
The process coordinator is Meri Barseghyan, specialist at ANQA’s Policy Development Division.
Prior to the site visit, the expert panel studied the institutions' self-evaluation report, the documents attached, as well as conducted a desk review.
As part of the external review, the expert panel carried out class observations and resource observation. The panel held meetings with the education institution's Board, rector, vice-rector, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, deans, heads of chairs, departments and research centres, teachers, students, alumni, and employer representatives. The expert panel had "professional talks" with the managers, teaching staff and students of the Aps "Economics", "Law" and "English Language and Literature".
Meetings with quality assurance managers and other stakeholders are also planned.
Following the site visit, the expert panel will compile a report, evaluating the education institution's activities against ten accreditation criteria. The experts will point out the enhancement areas and provide relevant recommendations, guiding the institution in the preparation of a follow-up plan with a clear schedule.
Next on, ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts.
It should be noted that ANQA’s Accreditation Committee granted the Goris State University conditional institutional accreditation for a period of two years in 2018, and institutional accreditation for a period of four years in 2021.
