On October 24, ANQA conducted a monitoring of the internal quality assurance system at the Yerevan Juridical-Economic and Management College. The aim was to determine the extent to which the quality assurance system is embedded in the education institution, how it operates, and which quality assurance processes are in place.
As part of the monitoring, meetings were held with the education institution’s director, deputy directors, teachers and students.
The key issues discussed included:
- How does the institution recruit specialists and ensure the stability of the teaching staff?
- What steps are taken to identify the teachers' needs, and how is their professional and methodological development supported?
- What changes have occurred in the academic programmes in recent years, what data informed these changes, and how does the institution monitor their effectiveness?
- How and to what extent do internships take place, do they adequately reinforce the practical skills gained at the institution in the employer settings, what feedback does the institution receive from employers and how does it respond to signals from the labour market?
- What tasks are assigned to the students based on the employer settings, and how is the research component reflected?
- How does the institution ensure that the students achieved all intended outcomes of the academic programmes, and how is each outcome assessed?
- Is the institution equipped with sufficient material, technical and professional resources to effectively implement the academic programmes and ensure the achievement of the defined outcomes?
- How is interdisciplinary collaboration organised at the institution? Are joint classes conducted? Does this collaboration support the teaching of professional foreign languages?
At the end of the monitoring, ANQA’s specialists summarized the meeting outcomes with the education institution’s director.
