On February 10–13, ANQA participated in a four-day workshop at the Dresden University of Technology as part of the KPI4HEI Erasmus+ project.
The main goal was to discuss the strategies for the KPI implementation in HEIs as a key tool for management and performance evaluation.
The following issues were addressed:
- KPI implementation in HEIs and accreditation process on the example of the University of Oldenburg;
- internationalisation, equality, diversity and inclusion as strategic tools to achieve the set KPIs on the example of Italian HEIs;
- assessment system used by the external evaluation body in the Italian practice;
- digitalisation and KPIs on the example of the University of Oldenburg;
- internationalisation, inclusion and diversity based on the Dresden University of Technology's practice;
- models for internal and external quality assurance committee in Italian HEIs.
ANQA, as the main responsible for the work package on the KPI development and implementation, shared the KPI development process, the achieved outcomes and the results from the pilot implementation of KPIs. The discussions with HEIs focused on data collection and analysis, as well as the difficulties and challenges faced by the Armenian HEIs during the pilot implementation.
ANQA also organised practical activities in a game-based format. Each HEI received key areas aligned with their strategic goals:
- alumni retention through employment in the region;
- compliance with the requirements of the regional labour market;
- public engagement and social impact;
- practical and work-based learning;
- continuing and adult education in the region.
For these areas, the HEIs were provided with five indicators and chose three that best reflected the evaluation of the effectiveness of their goal achievement. The HEIs explained the reasons for their selection. Juries from each HEI were also selected to pose questions and provide development-focused recommendations. This practical exercise aimed to reinforce the participants' in-depth understanding of the KPI development and implementation.
