On November 13, the American University of Armenia will host a workshop "Graduate tracking – what and how", organised by ANQA and the European Training Foundation (ETF).
The workshop aims to outline the objectives of graduate tracking, explore implementation possibilities, and highlight its role in shaping education policy.
Graduate tracking is one of the important instruments used to assess learning outcomes as well as to anticipate skills and jobs.
In the context of a rapidly evolving labour market, systematically gathering intelligence on current and future skills is essential. These data-driven policies align academic programmes with employer expectations, helping reduce unemployment rates and drive socioeconomic progress.
The workshop speaker will be Eva Jansova, ETF expert, who will share insights on the goal of graduate tracking, data collection strategies and practices from various EU countries. The event will also feature discussions on the development of a preliminary roadmap for graduate tracking in Armenia.
The workshop will be attended by education managers, representatives from HEIs and VET institutions.
This initiative is a logical continuation of the 2024 ETF Forum for Quality Assurance in VET titled "Quality Assurance of Employment-oriented Formative Assessment" held in Armenia. During the peer review of the VET system following the Forum, international experts highlighted the need to study graduate tracking and establish a unified database to support state level decision-making process.
ANQA later piloted the ETF diagnostic tool for VET in Armenia, enabling the identification of the system strengths and enhancement areas. That practice also emhasised the role of reliable and comprehensive data as the basis for effective education policy.
