On January 19-21, ANQA, with the support of the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation, organised training for teachers from the agricultural VET institutions as part of “Building Innovative Teaching Capacities in VET (Development of Research and Digital Skills)” project. The aim was to develop the teachers’ research and digital skills.
The training focused on methods for the development of student skills in data collection, analysis and formulation of well-grounded conclusions.
Cultivation of a research-oriented mindset
The research process starts with the identification of issues as its first and most crucial stage. Students learn to carefully observe phenomena that change or may affect outcomes, enabling them to identify potential cause-and-effect relationships and formulate questions.
The training highlights that research process includes:
- selection of topic or situation;
- information gathering;
- data collection;
- analysis and formulation of conclusions.
The training aimed not only to develop teaching skills, but also to foster research-oriented mindset among students to address professional challenges.
The teachers’ role is to guide students in the selection of the right topic, collection of relevant information and data analysis. The research topic should be clear, understandable and connected to students’ real professional activities.
This project aims to transfer not only theoretical knowledge, but also equip students with practical skills through research activities.
