Within the framework of cooperation between ANQA and the University of California, Davis, a workshop entitled “Secure Document Storage through the Article 26 Backpack” will take place on 11 December at the European University of Armenia. The workshop will introduce participants to the innovative digital platform Article 26 Backpack.
The aim of the workshop is to familiarise participants with this free cloud-based service, designed for the secure storage, organisation and international sharing of users’ academic documents, including diplomas, transcripts, certificates, CVs and motivation letters. The tool enables young people to plan and build their educational and professional development pathways more effectively.
Key advantages of the platform
The Article 26 Backpack, which serves more than 5,000 users worldwide, offers a number of important features designed to support students throughout their educational and professional journeys and promote academic mobility.
Secure storage: Users can securely store records of their educational and professional background in a system supported by the academic standards of the University of California.
International verification: Documents can be verified through ECE Aid, supporting their recognition internationally.
Sharing: Users can securely share their academic and professional achievements with universities, scholarship providers and employers through temporary links.
Development opportunities: Users receive regular information about new academic opportunities and may also access opportunities to earn a continuing education certificate from UC Davis.
Languages: The platform is available in 8 languages, including Armenian.
Background
The Article 26 Backpack was created by Keith David Watenpaugh, Professor and Director of Human Rights Studies at the University of California, Davis. It was initially developed to help address educational barriers faced by refugees and young people from vulnerable groups.
The platform is named after Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which establishes the universal right to education.
