Dear students, teachers and colleagues,
Congratulations on Knowledge Day and the start of the new academic year.
The new academic year is traditionally associated with the acquisition of new knowledge and the development of professional competences. Yet, upon entering an HEI or VET institution, students also begin to shape something equally important: their future professional environment.
The student sitting beside you today may become your colleague tomorrow — someone with whom you will solve issues, make decisions, implement projects, or contribute to the development of your professional field. Teachers, too, are not merely transmitters of knowledge. They are full members of the professional community that you are preparing to join. Education, therefore, is not only an individual journey. It is an opportunity to learn how to share knowledge, ask questions, listen to others, discuss, collaborate and find solutions together.
Today, AI is also part of that professional environment. It can support analysis, decision-making and creative thinking, but it does not diminish an individual's role or responsibility. The problem remains yours to solve. You are the one who should define it, evaluate possible solutions and take responsibility for the outcomes.
This is where systems thinking becomes essential — the ability to view a problem in the context of an interconnected system of people, processes and technologies.
Dear students,
In the new academic year, look beyond classrooms, subjects and assignments and take notice of the people who may become your colleagues in the years ahead. Learn to think together, ask questions, discuss, share and create.
Professional success is built through the effective interaction of people, knowledge and technology.
May the new academic year be another important step towards learning together, fostering a culture of collaboration and growing into responsible and proactive professionals of tomorrow.
Happy September 1!
