On May 14, ANQA held a regular workshop as part of the Erasmus+ QA4VET project with the participation of internal quality assurance groups of partner VET institutions.
The participants discussed SWOT analyses of academic programmes (APs) in three working groups, aiming to make them more in-depth, data-informed and focused on the identification of the real programme needs. The discussions covered the APs' strengths and weaknesses, development opportunities and threats, supported by the analysis of factual data, evaluations and learning outcomes.
ANQA's specialists highlighted that SWOT analyses should be conducted with an evidence-based approach, ensuring a clear distinction between internal and external factors.
The workshop also addressed mechanisms for the evaluation of learning outcomes, the monitoring of student progress, the employer engagement, the development of digital resources and the AP enhancement. As a result of the discussion, VET institutions will revise their SWOT analyses to make them more substantiated and evidence-based.
