On April 9, ANQA launched another training course for student experts as part of the “Students’ Voice” project, bringing together students from Armenian HEIs.
At the beginning of the training course, participants shared their perspectives on student-centred teaching, highlighting active student engagement, competence development, self-expression and consideration of students’ rights and needs in the educational process.
It was noted that approaches to student-centred teaching vary across educational institutions. While each HEI defines its own approaches, ANQA places particular emphasis on the effectiveness of the learning process — whether students graduate as competent professionals and to what extent their qualifications are credible.
Meri Barseghyan, coordinator of the “Students’ Voice” project, introduced the course programme and outlined the goals and key principles of the accreditation process, highlighting that:
- ANQA is a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and its accreditation is recognised in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
- The RA’s State Accreditation Criteria and Standards align with international criteria and are based on international guidelines.
As part of the training course, students will learn about the role and activities of student experts and the criteria for institutional and programme accreditation, while developing skills in the formulation of outcome-oriented questions and evidence-based conclusions.
Upon successful completion, the participants will be awarded a certificate, added to the pool of student experts and become members of the expert panels for accreditation processes.
