As part of the institutional accreditation process, a site visit is planned to take place at the College of Shushi University of Technology. On October 1, ANQA held a meeting with the participation of the education institution’s expert panel, ANQA’s director, head of the Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division and coordinators.
The discussions covered the key issues and hypotheses identified through the desk review, which will inform their observations during the external review, along with the peculiarities of the site visit.
The main points addressed included:
- the feasibility of the goals outlined in the institution’s Strategic Plan and the systematic steps in that direction;
- whether the institution’s resources support the effective implementation of the academic programmes and the achievement of intended outcomes;
- whether the teaching staff’s stability is ensured;
- the nature of cooperation with employers and whether the student assignments reflect the employer requirements;
- the institution’s research practice and measures taken to prepare practical specialists with a research-oriented mindset and analytical skills.
It was highlighted that the entire educational process should aim to develop specialists, capable of defining relevant issues, conducting research, collecting and analysing data, and making evidence-based decisions.
The discussions also addressed the potential focus of a site visit for a relatively newly established education institution.
The meeting ended with an emphasis that the expert recommendations should be well-defined, practical and solution-oriented. The expert panel reports should provide comprehensive and evidence-based information, enabling the Accreditation Committee to make data-driven and objective decisions.
