On June 13, ANQA’s staff hosted Douglas Blackstock, president of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). During the meeting with Mr Blackstock, the changes made in VETs and HEIs under the influence of the quality assurance system, the challenges and the development prospects were discussed.
Reference was also made to the external review of ANQA conducted by ENQA, within the framework of which an online site visit took place earlier in February 2022. ANQA’s specialists shared their impressions, and suggestions and discussed the expected changes in the RA quality assurance system.
The meeting focused on the issues related to the quality assurance of microcredentials, the results of the involvement in the Bologna Thematic Peer Group on Quality Assurance, the circumstances hindering the implementation of programme accreditation and the solutions considered. The ways of students’ involvement in external and internal quality assurance processes, their contribution to the system’s development, and examples of field research were discussed. During the meeting it was also emphasized that the Students’ Voice project was a tool for human resource recruitment: many of ANQA’s staff members previously participated in the Students’ Voice project, were involved in expert panels as student experts, and later became ANQA’s staff members.
At the end of the meeting, the president of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education wished ANQA success in the development of a quality assurance system and dissemination of a culture of quality in Armenia. Let us remind you that ANQA became a full member of ENQA in 2017. This year, ANQA underwent an external review to renew its membership. The results of the review will be available soon.
