On June 3, ANQA conducted online monitoring at the Martuni State Medical College. The focus was on the institution’s enhancement strategy areas identified through the results of the previous accreditation.
As part of the monitoring, meetings were held with various stakeholders, including the director, deputy directors, heads of chairs, teachers, students, and the quality assurance manager. The key issues addressed were:
- the review and modernisation of academic programmes (APs) to align with the requirements of the labour market and the needs of the professional community, especially employers and medical institutions;
- the incentivisation of the physician teachers’ engagement through the integration of hands-on practice and real-world work situations into the teaching process;
- the introduction of elective subjects to meet emerging demands in the healthcare sector;
- the pursuit of new opportunities for international cooperation and the AP benchmarking to apply international practice;
- the revision of reporting template to ensure the effectiveness of strategic management and strengthen analysis based on measurable KPIs;
- the revision of incentive mechanisms for the teaching staff grounded in the predefined quality standards;
- the social responsibility and professional capacity building initiatives, particularly in the training of kindergarten nurses;
- the use of student assignments in a medical environment to develop professional and analytical skills;
- the foreign language courses to enhance professional communication skills of students and teachers and expand international cooperation.
It should be noted that in 2025, programme accreditation for the AP "Nursing" will be launched at five medical education institutions. The Martuni State Medical College is one of the five institutions to undergo programme accreditation.
