On March 12-14, as part of the institutional accreditation process, ANQA’s expert panel conducts external review at the Medical college after Mehrabyan.
The chair of the expert panel is Gagik Ktryan, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, teacher at the European University of Armenia, head at the Department of Quality Assurance of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport. The members of the expert panel are Naira Arshakyan, teacher at the Department of Pharmacognosy of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, Asya Hakobyan, teacher and head of the Internship Division at the Yerevan State Basic Medical College and Areg Khalapyan, a student at the Armenian Medical Institute.
The process coordinator is Anahit Terteryan, specialist at ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division.
Prior to the site visit, the expert panel studied the education institution's self-evaluation report and the documents attached. The panel also conducted class observations, resource observation and a desk review.
As part of the external review, meetings were held with the education institution’s management staff, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, alumni, employers and heads of divisions. Meetings with the chairs of the subject cycle committees, teachers, students, quality assurance managers and other stakeholders are also planned.
"Professional talks" will be conducted with the managers, teaching staff, and students of the Aps "Nursing", "Pharmacy" and "Medical Cosmetology".
The process coming after the site visit is the preparation of an expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. Based on that report, the education institution will prepare a follow-up plan with a clear schedule.
Next on, ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts.
Let us note that in 2021, ANQA’s Accreditation Committee granted the Medical college after Mehrabyan institutional accreditation for a period of four years.
