On October 7, a meeting was held with the expert panel for the Yerevan State Sports College of Olympic Reserve, ANQA's director and head of the Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division and the process coordinator. The meeting was organised ahead of the upcoming site visit as part of the institutional accreditation process.
The meeting aimed to summarise the key observations and issues from the desk review, as well as to outline the hypotheses to be examined during the external review.
The discussion focused on planning as a key prerequisite for effective goals achievement.
It was highlighted that effective planning should ensure all stakeholders' shared understanding of the goals, sequence of activities, assigned responsibilities and timelines. Given the specific nature of the institution's activities, particular emphasis was placed on the targeted planning of training activities and their implementation stages, ensuring their alignment with the intended learning outcomes.
The meeting also addressed the following issues:
- the institution's teaching and learning processes and the approaches applied;
- the interconnection of APs' topics and the integration of interdisciplinary links;
- the identification of institutional and AP needs, as well as the planning and effective utilisation of resources;
- the contribution of class observations, formative assessment and feedback to the enhancement of the educational process.
- the application of student-centred approaches and the evaluation of students’ progress and achievement of learning outcomes.
The meeting ended with an emphasis that the external review and the subsequent report should focus on the institution’s capacity to effectively implement its APs, while the expert panel’s recommendations should contribute to the development of a student-centred learning environment and the continuous enhancement of APs.
