On 13 May, ANQA held an online workshop on programme accreditation with the participation of representatives from education institutions in the programme accreditation process.
The discussion addressed the evaluation of the effectiveness of medical academic programmes (APs), with particular emphasis on the integration of theoretical and practical teaching components, the development of students’ professional competences and the role of clinical bases.
The participants highlighted the key role of the practical component, the effective integration of simulation-based and clinical teaching, as well as the enhancement of assessment mechanisms. It was emphasised that modern medical education requires not only the delivery of theoretical knowledge but also the development of competences required in real-world professional environments.
Reference was also made to the importance of data-driven self-evaluation, the continuous revision of academic programmes and employer engagement in QA processes.
