On March 23–24, Caucasus University in Georgia hosted a delegation from ANQA and the National University of Architecture and Construction, led by Ruben Topchyan.
As part of the visit, memoranda of cooperation were signed with both ANQA and the National University of Architecture and Construction, contributing to the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral academic ties and opportunities for new joint initiatives.
The parties discussed institutional development areas, prospects for international cooperation and the importance of QA in higher education, with a particular emphasis on the alignment of academic programmes (APs) with international standards.
The working meetings also covered the AP structure and modern approaches to teaching and assessment. Particular emphasis was placed on the formulation of learning outcomes, the role of student portfolios and mechanisms for the internal and external evaluation of AP quality.
The delegation also met with students to hear their views on teaching and learning methods and attended an exhibition of student works showcasing projects developed as part of architecture programmes.
The experience gained during the visit and discussion outcomes provide an important basis for the Armenian partners in further AP modernisation and effective organisation of international accreditation processes.
This visit represents an important step towards the strengthening of international cooperation, enhancement of the professional education quality and exchange of best practices that contribute to the development of higher education in the region.
