The desk review of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport has launched as part of the institutional accreditation. On November 3, ANQA held the first expert panel meeting with ANQA’s director, head of the Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, the process coordinator and the expert panel members.
The participants addressed the key approaches to the desk review and the planning of the expert panel’s activities, considering the specific characteristics of higher education in physical culture and sport.
The key discussion topics included:
- the planning of the expert panel’s activities and the main areas of focus for the desk review;
- the peculiarities of higher education in physical culture and sport, particularly the preparation of physical education teachers and coaches;
- the link between academic programme (AP) content, teaching and assessment methods and intended learning outcomes;
- the alignment of the Institute’s educational activities with the professional requirements of the sports sector.
The meeting helped outline the key directions of the expert panel’s further work, providing a basis for the study of the institution’s self-evaluation report and the subsequent stages of the external review process.
The desk review meeting represents an important stage in the full preparation for the site visit and the effective implementation of the accreditation process.
