On November 2, the Yerevan State University hosted the final conference of the Erasmus+ project "Establishment of National framework of Key Performance Indicators for good governance and quality towards inclusive, digital and green-oriented higher education in Armenia" (KPI4HE).
The conference provided an opportunity to discuss the project outcomes, introduce the national framework of KPIs for HEIs and discuss its potential application in higher education governance and QA processes.
At the opening of the conference, Ruben Topchyan, ANQA's director, highlighted the project's role in the formation a new culture of quality evaluation in Armenia. Dr. Topchyan emphasised that, beyond data collection, it is essential to establish a clear methodology for KPI measurement and to ensure the analysis and interpretation of results, considering the specific characteristics of HEIs and their academic programmes (APs). Ruben Topchyan also attached importance to the integration of KPIs into existing accreditation and QA mechanisms.
Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, presented the indicators from the national KPI framework that have been incorporated into the institutional capacity assessment questionnaire and will be applied in future institutional accreditation processes. Ms. Gyulazyan highlighted the importance of these indicators in evidence-based evaluation of HEI performance, data-driven decision-making and continuous quality enhancement.
The Erasmus+ KPI4HE project is coordinated by the Yerevan State University and implemented with the participation of 12 partner institutions from Armenia and Europe.
