On May 11, the second steering group meeting of the Erasmus+ “Support for the Enhancement-Oriented Implementation of the Quality Assurance Key Commitment” (SIQA) project was held online with the participation of representatives of the project partner organisations. ANQA was represented by Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of the Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, and Meri Barseghyan, specialist at the Policy Development Division.
The meeting aimed to summarise the project's first-year activities, present the progress achieved through the work packages, discuss upcoming actions and outline next steps for the project development.
The SIQA aims to strengthen the quality culture in the EHEA, fostering the practical implementation of the ESG, the introduction of a European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes and the exchange of innovative approaches and practices for the development of national QA systems.
During the meeting, participants discussed the activities within the project’s key areas and next steps, particularly:
- practical implementation of the ESG and the further development of EQA processes aligned with them;
- QA in cross-border education and application of the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes;
- outcomes achieved through international cooperation, peer learning and study visits;
- opportunities for the introduction of innovative approaches to QA in higher education;
- further steps to disseminate the project outcomes and increase their visibility.
The BFUG TPG C on Quality Assurance also plays an important role in the project. For the 2024–2027 working period, Armenia, represented by ANQA, serves as a co-chair of the group. Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, has assumed the role of co-chair, supporting Armenia’s active participation in the development of QA policies and the exchange of practices within the EHEA.
On November 16–18, Yerevan will host the next TPG C on QA, bringing together representatives from 38 countries and seven international consultative organisations: EUA, ENQA, EQAR, ESU, EURASHE, BusinessEurope and ETUCE. The meeting will address the challenges in QA, promote peer learning and the exchange of practices and facilitate the joint development of solutions for the continuous enhancement of the quality culture within the EHEA.
